Dubai's foreign trade in the food sector increased by 3% to reach 86.2 billion dirhams in 2019 compared to 84 billion dirhams in 2018.

According to the Emirates News Agency, exports increased by 15.3 percent to 16.94 billion dirhams, compared to 14.69 billion dirhams, and re-exports increased by 2 percent to 17.27 billion dirhams, compared to 16.93 billion dirhams, and imports were stable at 52 billion dirhams, according to a statistic released by Dubai Customs on the occasion of Gulfood Gallery.


The Republic of India occupied the forefront of Dubai's trading partners with a share of 6.41 percent of the total food trade at a value of 5.53 billion dirhams, followed by the United States of America with a share of 6.3 percent with a value of 5.45 billion dirhams, then Iraq with a share of 5.3 percent with a value of 4.57 billion dirhams and Brazil with a 4.72 percent share of 4 billion dirhams and the Sultanate Oman increased by 3.77 at a value of 3.25 billion dirhams, and China by 3.13 at a value of 2.7 billion dirhams.


Dubai's foreign trade in foodstuffs varies to include all its types. Nuts of various shapes and types came at the forefront of the list 4.2 billion dirhams, then frozen meat valued at 3.69 billion dirhams, then milk and its products worth 3.21 billion dirhams, chocolate and its products worth 3 billion dirhams, then tea worth two billion dirhams, sugar worth two billion dirhams and rice 1.96 billion dirhams.
