Gold futures prices closed the week's trading on Friday, higher.
Gold futures prices for February delivery rose by 0.85%, or $17.8, at $2,069.1 per ounce, achieving weekly gains of 1.65%, and continuing to rise for the second week in a row, according to the Middle East News Agency.
While the value of the dollar index - which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of six major currencies - declined by 0.15% to 101.71 points.
