Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that it will invest $5 billion through 2036 to establish a region for its data centers in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Arab Net, the company specialized in cloud computing services said in a statement that, as of today, developers, startups, entrepreneurs and institutions, as well as government agencies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations will have wider, more flexible and efficient options to run their applications, enhance the efficiency of their operations and provide services to users. and customers relying on Amazon Web Services data centers in the UAE.
These centers will allow users to take advantage of the broad portfolio of advanced cloud computing services and technologies offered by the AWS Cloud, helping drive innovation.
AWS also estimates that its projected spending on building and operating its new data center region will support approximately 6,000 full-time jobs annually in the local labor market.
The new Amazon Web Services region in the Middle East (UAE) will also contribute to adding an estimated $11 billion (AED 41 billion) to the UAE's GDP over the next fifteen years.
With the launch of the new Amazon Web Services Zone in the Middle East (UAE), Amazon Web Services currently has 87 Availability Zones in 27 geographical regions around the world, and plans to launch 21 new Availability Zones and 7 other locations in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Spain and Switzerland.
