In light of the outbreak of bird flu that has spread to 24 US states, more than 80 countries have restricted US poultry products.

According to Al Arabiya Net, US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said that he does not expect major export losses to poultry producers in the United States from the outbreak of bird flu that has spread to 24 states. Vilsack indicated that the restrictions were limited to poultry raised in Affected provinces or states.

During the previous outbreak of the epidemic, more than 50 million chickens and turkeys died due to the disease, and residents were evacuated in affected areas during the outbreak of the disease that extended in 2014 and 2015, which cost the American economy about $ 3.3 billion in losses, according to the assessment of the US Department of Agriculture, as Eighteen countries - including China, Russia and South Korea - banned US poultry at the time.

According to Vilsack, improvements in biosecurity since the outbreak have helped significantly in 2014 and 2015 to reduce the spread of the disease.
