Mark Kirby, director of the hospitality sector at Emaar Hospitality Group, said that the group plans to open 5 new hotels during the current year 2022, including 4 in the UAE, and plans to open 5 other hotels during the next year 2023.
Kirby added, according to Emirates Today newspaper, that the group currently has more than 30 hotels in service in various markets, the largest share of which is in the UAE.
He indicated that the group's hotels are performing well, with the opening of more destinations, and the easing of travel protocols, noting that the average room rates and returns on them exceeded the group's expectations and the rates it was targeting, as they exceeded the occupancy rates of the group's hotels in Dubai. 70% during the first quarter of this year.
