Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish a natural gas center in Turkey.

According to Arabiya Net, Erdogan said during his speech to members of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Parliament that Putin told him that Europe can obtain its gas needs through this center in Turkey.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russia must stand firm against Russia's manipulation of energy markets.

At a summit to be held next Thursday and Friday, European Union leaders will discuss a range of options for capping gas prices, according to a draft summit statement.

Der Line added, We will study all options to confront the rise in energy prices, stressing that the European Union will be able to replace two-thirds of Russian gas imports within 8 months.
