The World Tourism Organization has chosen Riyadh to open its first regional office for the Middle East at all outside the Spanish capital Madrid.


According to Arab Net, the Regional Office opened the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, Zarab Bollycashville and Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Khatib, during the summit of the recovery of tourism sector held in Riyadh.


The task of the Regional Office will be to coordinate policies and initiatives across 13 countries in the Middle East, enhance tourism products and sustainable development, collect important statistics for the sector and exchange information, as well as stimulate investment in tourism assets and rectifiers and to determine policies on health aspects.


The World Tourism Organization also launched a program to celebrate the best tourist villages and announced the establishment of the first tourist academy in Riyadh dedicated to the Middle East.


On the other hand, Saudi Arabia announced allocating $ 100 million to establish the International Fund for Comprehensive Tourism, the first fund to support global tourism growth, in cooperation with the World Bank.


The Saudi Council of Ministers, acknowledged at its meeting on Tuesday, the Saudi Minister of Tourism Minister was authorized to discuss with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (AFC), with a draft cooperation agreement between the Kingdom's Ministry of Tourism and the International Tourism Organization for Human Capacity Development through e-learning and signing On it, and then raise the final version signed, to complete the regular actions.


The Minister of Tourism has also been authorized or disclosed with the Omani and France's two sides on the draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the Sultanate of Oman, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in the Republic of France and then signed Raising the two finals the two locations, to complete the regular procedures.


The National Tourism Strategy in the Kingdom, aims to raise the contribution of the tourism sector in GDP to more than 10% by 2030, and provide the largest number of career opportunities in line with the Vision 2030.


Prior to days ago, the Saudi Ministry of Tourism announced the appointment of Gloria Guevara Manzo, which worked as a former president of the World Tourism and Travel and Minister of Tourism in Mexico, as large advisers, to contribute its extensive experience with the ministry team to move to the next stage of the development of the tourism sector in the Kingdom In the framework of 2030.


Juevara Manzo is one of the most influential women in the sector at the global sector. She has served as Minister of Tourism and the Executive Chairman of the Mexico's tourism promotion council between 2010 and 2012 and has succeeded in developing the country's tourism sector and strengthening Mexico's position as a world leader.
