Foreign and Gulf investors recorded net purchases during their dealings in the Saudi stock market, Tadawul. This happened last week, ending on December 21, in exchange for recording net selling by Saudi investors.
The weekly report of the Saudi Tadawul Company, issued today, Monday, showed that foreign investors recorded net purchases worth 879.72 million riyals, and 90.44 million riyals for Gulf citizens, compared to net sales to Saudis worth 970.17 million riyals.
The total purchases of foreigners amounted to 6.74 billion riyals, representing 24% of the total purchases in the market during the week, compared to sales amounting to 5.86 billion riyals, equivalent to 20.8% of the total sales.
Qualified investors supported foreign trading last week; They recorded a net purchase of about 927.24 million riyals, while the swap agreements recorded a net sale of about 33.77 million riyals, and resident investors also recorded a net sale of about 13.12 million riyals.
On the other hand, Saudis’ purchases during the last week ending December 21, 2023 amounted to about 20.89 billion riyals, equivalent to 74.18% of all investors’ purchases of stocks listed in the general index of the Saudi stock market, compared to sales amounting to 21.86 billion riyals, representing 77.62% of Investors' purchases in the market during the week.
The Saudis’ transactions were affected by individual sales, with net sales amounting to 916.32 billion riyals. As a result of a difference in purchases amounting to 17.10 billion riyals, compared to sales amounting to 18.02 billion riyals.
On the other hand, institutional purchases amounted to about 3.79 billion riyals, compared to sales worth 3.84 billion riyals, with a net sale of 53.84 million riyals.
On the Gulf side, their total purchases amounted to 534.76 million riyals, compared to sales amounting to 444.32 million riyals.
The general market index, TASI, recorded an increase of 0.68% in the week ending December 21, 2023, adding 79 points to its balance, bringing it to the level of 11,621.93 points, compared to 11,542.93 points last week.
The market capitalization rose by about 51 billion riyals during the week, bringing the market value of shares listed on Tadawul to 11.14 trillion riyals, compared to 11.09 trillion riyals, at the end of last week.
