The EU's High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell said in the statement that these sanctions target those who play an important economic role in supporting the Russian government.
Borrell noted that the European sanctions list against Russia so far includes 680 individuals and 53 entities, all of which are covered by the asset freeze, the ban on making money available to individuals or listed entities, in addition to the travel ban. into the European Union or through its territory.
He also indicated that the new sanctions complement the package announced the day before yesterday, which includes providing equipment and supplies to the Ukrainian army and imposing a ban on overflights over European Union airspace and on the arrival of Russian carriers of all kinds to EU airports and ban on dealings with the Russian Central Bank.
