The annual inflation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rose by 0.4% last July, compared to the same month of 2020, according to data released today, Sunday.

The Saudi General Authority for Statistics said that the consumer price index for July was lower than that of June, in which inflation rose by 6.2%.

The authority indicated that the reason for the relatively lower rise is the fading of the impact of the value-added tax increase from 5% to 15%, which began to be applied in the Kingdom during the month of July 2020. .

She added that transportation prices were the biggest influence on the increase in inflation in July compared to the same month in 2020, as the transportation department recorded a 7.8% increase, and the food department recorded And beverages, an increase of 1.2%, and the tobacco section increased by the same percentage.
