This week, Qatar Airways has sacked nearly 200 employees, all of whom are Filipino citizens residing in Qatar, due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus and the reduction of flights.
According to Reuters, Philippine Labor Secretary Sylvester Bello told Reuters on Wednesday that about 200 Filipinos were suddenly laid off from the airline, confirming a report released by ABS-CBN earlier.
"He received strict instructions to determine the real reason for the administration's decision to dispense with them on the basis of no need," the minister told Reuters, the appendix concerned with our work.
