Saudi Arabia plans to establish a second national airline within a new national transport and logistics strategy. The Kingdom will become a global logistical center to help diversify its economy.


According to Arab Net, the official news agency S and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as saying that the national transport and logistics strategy also includes increased air linkage to 250 destinations and double air freight capacity to 4.5 million tons.


It will be consistent with ports, railway development plans and road networks, and increase the contribution of the country's GDP sector to 10% from 6% by 2030.


Saudi Arabia is considering building a new airport in its capital Riyadh, to become a new airline base, which will serve tourists and business travelers, while the current national airline will focus on Saudi Arabian Airlines on Hajj and Umrah flights from its base in Jeddah, according to By Bloomberg last week.


Saudi Arabian Airlines is the largest airline in the Kingdom. Other companies include Flyadeal, Saudi Airlines, and NAS, and Kingdom Holding Company.
