The Kuwaiti cabinet requested the state ministries to provide the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with recent projects or to be concluded with major American companies, in preparation for the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled to New York next September.
The Council decided to assign the Fatwa and Legislation Department, the Central Agency for Public Tenders, the Ministry of Finance, the Kuwait Municipality, and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, to form each entity a specialized internal team To speed up decision-making and complete procedures related to projects that fall within the jurisdiction of each party, provided that coordination with the Audit Bureau is to establish a mechanism to ensure speedy decision on issues presented to the Bureau without prejudice to its established competencies, according to Al-Qabas newspaper.
A Cabinet circular indicated that the Prime Minister's visit is scheduled to witness meetings with economic figures such as heads of some major companies who have projects inside Kuwait or who are looking forward to that. And, to name a few, Google, Amazon, Boeing, Tesla.
The Cabinet stressed the speedy implementation of projects and the establishment of relevant ministerial committees to follow up on them, with priority given to projects whose establishment is self-financed and generate a return on the state.
