Almarai Company announced the payment of the full value of the Sukuk (the fifth issue) amounting to 1.6 billion Saudi riyals, on Friday, September 16, 2022.
The company said in a statement to the Saudi market (Tadawul), today, Sunday, that the recovery rate from the original issue amounted to 100%, while the total number of redeemed sukuk reached 1,600.
The company clarified in the statement that the issuance of the above-mentioned sukuk was on September 16, 2015, and its trading was stopped on September 16, 2022, and its value was fully deposited in the accounts of the sukuk holders on the date of discontinuation.
It indicated that the nominal value of the instrument upon redemption amounted to one million riyals, while the value of the total issuance after redemption amounted to 1.6 billion riyals.
It stated that the entity responsible for depositing the amount of the sukuk and the methods of communication is the Saudi Fransi Capital Company.
She indicated that the financial impact of the sukuk payment will appear on the financial results for the third quarter of this year (2022).
Almarai's profits rose by 8% in the second quarter of this year to reach 520.36 million riyals, compared to profits of about 481.98 million riyals in the same period last year.
The company's profits rose in the first half of this year by 8.4% to reach 940.82 million riyals, compared to the profits of the same period of the previous year, which amounted to 867.93 million riyals.
