Japan is testing a train speed of 400 kilometers per hour

East Japan Railways, or JR East, conducted a test flight to test the Shinkansen test train.

According to Arabiyanet, the train, with a maximum speed of 400 kilometers per hour, traveled at a speed of 382 kilometers per hour.

The test was conducted in the section between the Sendai and Morioka stations on the Tohoku Shinkansen line in JR East, which connects Tokyo and Aomori Prefecture, according to the Japan Times website.

JR East is conducting tests on 10 ALFA-Xs at speeds of around 360 kilometers per hour to collect data for the development of the next generation of the Shinkansen.

Currently, trains of the E5 series run at speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour.

and an aerodynamic braking system was installed on the ALFA-X surface to improve braking performance. In addition, a system is used to slow the train using electromagnetic resistance with the rails.

To provide a more comfortable ride during high-speed travel, the ALFA-X is equipped with a feature that reduces not only horizontal vibrations but also vertical vibrations.

said Koji Asano, Head of the Advanced Rail System Development Center at JR East, after a year and a half of trial run, ALFA-X can now operate with a certain level of stability.

He added: We aim to operate the Shinkansen train to travel at 360 km per hour so that our customers can spend useful time while riding the train.
