According to the Emirates News Agency, the Department of Commercial Enterprises Complaints Department in the Dubai Economy announced that it had received 770 complaints over the past year 2019.


Thus, the number of complaints recorded a massive decrease of 54% compared to the year before 2018, during which the department received 1,657 complaints.


The Commercial Facilities Complaints Department stated that during the past year it received 476 inquiries, bringing the total number of transactions it handled in the year to 1,246 transactions.


The department received 13% of the total complaints through the smart application and 42% via the website, bringing the total percentage of electronic transactions through smart channels to 55%, while 73% of inquiries were received via the smart application.


The department monitored the services sector's acquisition of the highest percentage of complaints by 39%, followed by the food sector with 16%, and in the third place came decoration and construction activities whose share of complaints reached 12%, with the remainder distributed among other sectors.


As for the types of complaints that were received, failure to adhere to the terms of the agreement and contract was at the forefront of the reasons, in addition to commercial fraud, and lack of commitment to commercial activity .. The complaints affected the various nationalities of companies, but at the top of the list appeared UAE, Indian, Egyptian, Pakistani and Saudi companies, and back The reason behind this is due in large part to the increase in the number of investors of these nationalities.
