Etihad Airways intends to increase the number of its flights to Saudi Arabia to 64 flights per week, starting in the summer of 2023, as the company currently operates 54 weekly flights to the Kingdom through 4 destinations: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Medina.
Airlines are increasing the number of their foreign flights, amid indications of improved travel and aviation traffic and the recovery of tourism, which was greatly affected during the closures of the (Covid-19) pandemic, according to a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Tuesday.
Etihad Airways began its activities in the year 2003, and the company’s fleet includes 71 aircraft in operation, and it operates flights to 45 countries, and it is affiliated with the portfolio of the Holding Company (ADQ), one of the sovereign wealth funds in Abu Dhabi, since October 2022.
Etihad Airways, which launched the first flight to Saudi Arabia in March 2005, carried about 12 million passengers during these years, according to the statement.
