British Airways is planning to lay off 350 pilots and place 300 more in a group that will be reassigned as needed.

According to Arabia Net, the British newspaper The Sun reported that this step comes after the company reached an agreement with its pilots.

The newspaper, which did not explain the source of this information, indicates that most pilots facing compulsory layoffs are working at London Gatwick airport.

The newspaper pointed out that the pilots and their assistants who were included in the group of 300 do not currently have a plane to work on and will continue to work in exchange for receiving half of their salary, while the salaries of individuals will be reduced. Other cabin crew at 15% right now.

British Bloomberg News reports that British Airways is under criticism from unions and members of Parliament for plans to cut 12,000 jobs, or lay off about 30 percent of its employees.
