The US oilfield services company, Baker Hughes, has announced the suspension of all new investments in Russia.

The company said in a statement, yesterday, Saturday: We continue to comply with applicable laws and sanctions as it fulfills our existing contractual obligations.

Two other oilfield services companies said on Friday that they had suspended all operations in Russia in line with US sanctions against Russia over its war on Ukraine.

The announcement came in the wake of large-scale exits by energy, retail and consumer goods companies, and a series of EU and US sanctions on Russian energy.
