According to CNBCarabia, the value of foreign trade amounted to 1.182 trillion dirhams, equivalent to $ 321.8 billion, in 2020, a drop of 1.37 trillion dirhams in 2019.


Imports fell 13.8% to AED 686 billion and received the value of re-export, a major aspect of Dubai trade, 21.7% to AED 329 billion. But exports increased by 8% to AED 167 billion.


Trade with China, China's largest trading partner, fell 5.3% to AED 142 billion, while trade with India has shrunk, second largest trading partner, 34% to AED 89 billion.


Trade with the United States decreased 21.5% to 61 billion, trade with Saudi Arabia, the largest Arab business partner, was 3.6% to AED 54 billion.


The gold trade grew 25.7% to AED 213 billion, while diamond trade fell 23.7% to AED 64.7 billion.


Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the emirate was still aimed at reaching the value of trade to AED 2025.
