The economy of the Emirate of Dubai received 18,273 new investors during January of the year 2023, with a remarkable growth of 27.6% compared to the same month of last year, which achieved 14,316 investors, according to the data of the Dubai Business Map of the Department of Economy and Tourism in the emirate.

The data indicated that the local market in the emirate recorded more than 117,000 investors who added new licenses to their activities during the past month, compared to about 87,000 investors in the same period of 2022, with a growth of 34.5%, according to the Emirati newspaper, Al-Khaleej.

The new licenses recorded a clear growth during the month of January of this year, by 42.7%. It reached 9960 licenses, compared to 6979 licenses.

In detail, the new licenses issued until the end of last month varied between professional, commercial and industrial, as professional licenses constituted the largest share of the total new licenses issued by touching 60% through 5954 licenses, and commercial came second with 3599 licenses equivalent to 36%, and industrial in third place. With 39 licenses.

In terms of the distribution of regions, the Bur Dubai region acquired the largest share of the number of new licenses through 6936 licenses, then Deira again with 2916 licenses, while the third was the New Dubai region with 99 licenses, and finally Hatta with only 9 licenses.

It is worth noting that the Dubai economy recorded during the year 2022 the establishment of 88,235 new companies, compared to 72,152 companies in 2021, with a growth of 22%. The number of new investors during the past year reached 174,212.
