The Zoom global visual communication platform intends to expand in the Middle East region.

According to Al-Bayan newspaper, Samer Tayan, director at Zoom in the Middle East and Africa region, said in statements to the London-based newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat published on Wednesday,: We are currently working on increasing Our presence in the region, revealing the company's aspiration to open an office in Saudi Arabia, and a data center in the region.

He explained: The Gulf markets in general, and Saudi Arabia in particular, are very important for Zoom, given the region's focus on digital transformation, and the strong interest in using Zoom technology for visual communication from Community of users.

He said: Coronavirus is a challenge for many companies, but the epidemic has also created opportunities for innovation; With countries around the world entering a state of complete lockdown, companies have had to adopt and implement technologies, and transform their business models in order to ensure business continuity in these unprecedented times.

He explained: Looking at the numbers, the use of Zoom overnight swelled far beyond what we expected when we first announced our desire to help in late February. This includes more than 100,000 schools in 25 countries that have adopted our offer to help children continue their education from a distance.

He stated that as of the end of December of last year, the maximum number of participants in daily meetings, whether free or paid, that were conducted at Zoom was about 10 million.

In March of this year, we reached more than 200 million meeting participants daily, and since last April we have reached more than 300 million meeting participants daily. The increase was 50% this month, from March to April.
