The Chinese e-commerce group, Alibaba, intends to establish a logistics center at Istanbul Airport and a data center near the Turkish capital, Ankara, where the value of these investments exceeds one billion dollars.
According to Arabiya.net, Michael Evans, Chairman of Alibaba Group, confirmed in an interview with the Turkish newspaper Sabah that the company is looking to invest in Europe and the Middle East region, and that it sees Turkey as a very strong production base.
He continued: We have a serious investment plan in Istanbul Airport. We can evaluate plans for electronic exports from here to Europe, the Middle East and the Far East region. We plan to invest more than a billion dollars.
Trendyol is supported by Alibaba, one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in Turkey.
Evans said: The reason we chose Trendyol was because its technology is advanced and its capabilities are great. We will make this place a base for Europe and the Middle East region.
