Fiat Chrysler Motors is in talks to obtain a credit line supported by Italy amounting to 6.3 billion euros ($ 6.8 billion).

According to Arabia Net, this is the largest government-supported funding in the world since the spread of the Coruna virus.

The company added that it is negotiating with Bank Intesa San Paolo to obtain the loan, which may reach up to 3 years, with the aim of financing the company’s factories in Italy.

The Commercial Insurance Institute, with a mechanism that requires approval by the Italian Ministry of Finance, will guarantee 80% of the loan.

The Italian-American automaker spent $ 5.5 billion in the first quarter while shutting down its factories in North America and stopping demand for new cars.
