Qatar has extended a program that provides guarantees to local banks by the Development Bank that loans are interest free for a year instead of 6 months.

The move comes in support of the private sector, which has been affected by the outbreak of the Corona virus emerging (Covid 19).

Qatar recorded approximately 34,000 cases of coronavirus, while the number of deaths in the country was 15.

Qatar Development Bank had called for a national guarantee program to provide guarantees to local banks for granting interest-free loans to companies affected by the repercussions of the spread of Corona in early April.

The Qatari authorities decided to close the shops and stop all commercial activities except pharmacies and food supply and delivery stores, starting from May 19 this month until the 30th of the same month. p>
