Dozens of major advertisers on Twitter, including 14 of the top 50 advertisers, have stopped advertising in the few weeks since Elon Musk's messy takeover of the social network.

The Pathmatics data showed that drugmaker Merck, cereal maker Kellogg's, Verizon and Boston Beer have also stopped advertising in recent weeks. The companies did not respond to requests for comment from The Post.

The Washington Post said that a third of the largest advertisers on the Twitter platform have stopped their ads in the past two weeks.

More than a third of the top 100 marketers have gone on advertising on Twitter in the past two weeks, according to the newspaper's analysis of marketing data — an indication of how volatile the advertisers are after billionaire Elon Musk took control of the company, the newspaper reported.
