The Saudi Stock Exchange's general index, TASI, rose by about 0.84% during the week ending March 21, gaining 107.12 points compared to last week.

The TASI index closed at 12,835.65 points at the end of trading this week, compared to 12,728.53 points last week ending on March 7, 2024.

The market value increased during the week’s trading by 16.27 billion riyals, reaching 11.137 trillion riyals, compared to 11.121 trillion riyals last week.

Ten sectors ended the week's trading with gains, led by media and entertainment with a 5.65% increase, followed by public utilities with 4.81% gains, then real estate with a 4.46% increase.

Among the leading sectors, the banking sector closed in the green zone with gains of 1.6%.

On the other hand, 11 sectors ended the week's trading in decline, the most prominent of which was transportation by 2.29%, insurance by 2.18%, and then capital goods by 1.87%.

Three leading sectors recorded a decline during the week’s trading, led by communications, with a decline of 0.63%, followed by the basic materials sector, with a decline of 0.27%, then energy, with a decline of 0.22%.

The value of trading during the week amounted to 47.2 billion riyals, compared to 51.61 billion riyals last week, a decrease of 8.55%.

The volume of shares traded increased by about 12.4%, to 2.23 billion shares, compared to 1.98 billion shares in the week ending March 7, 2024.
