The American Petroleum Institute said crude oil stocks fell by 6.1 million barrels in the week ending September 17, 2021.
The institute said in its weekly report that gasoline stocks in the United States decreased by 432,000 barrels last week, and distillate stocks decreased by 2.7 million barrels.
Today, Wednesday, the US Energy Information Administration is scheduled to announce official stockpile numbers, amid expectations that crude stocks will fall by 3.8 million barrels.
Oil prices ended higher on Tuesday, as Brent crude for November delivery rose 0.6% to $74.36 a barrel, and the US NYMEX increased by 0.4%. at $70.56 a barrel.
