U.S. crude oil, gasoline and distillate stockpiles rose last week, the Energy Information Administration said Wednesday.

The administration said crude inventories rose by 5.8 million barrels to 475.3 million in the week to April 5, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 2.4 million-barrel increase.

She added that crude oil inventories at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery center fell by 170,000 barrels.

She added that crude oil consumption in refineries fell by 115,000 barrels per day in the week ending April 5.

Refinery utilization rate fell 0.3 percent during the week.

The administration reported that gasoline stocks rose by 700,000 barrels during the week to 228.5 million barrels, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a decrease of 1.3 million barrels.

The EIA data showed that distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 1.7 million barrels during the week to 117.7 million barrels, compared with expectations for a decrease of 1.2 million barrels.

The administration said that net U.S. imports of crude oil increased by 1.13 million barrels per day.
