Russian billionaire Farhad Akhmedov and his ex-wife, Tatyana Akhmedova, have settled after years of legal wrangling over a record 454 million pounds ($625 million) divorce settlement amount awarded by the High Court in London in 2016.
According to Arabiya Net, this dispute between the former couple came to light, especially through their dispute over a luxury yacht 115 meters long docked in Dubai. Akhmedova had also obtained a court order requiring her son Timur to pay her more than £70m in family assets.
The terms of the settlement between the former spouses, which were concluded on Friday, are confidential, and it is not clear how much money Akhmedova will receive now.
It was not about an amount, but about a husband fulfilling his obligation to his family,' a spokesman for Akhmedova said, rejecting the claim of a spokesperson for her ex-husband that it would have been better for her not to file Judicial.
The Times said Akhmedova would receive around £150m, which would also cover legal costs.
Akhmedova's lawsuit was funded by specialized litigation finance firm Burford Capital, which said it would receive about $103 million for its efforts to enforce the judgment in the amount of 454 million pounds. p>
It is reported that British Judge Gwyneth Knowles had said in her ruling against Akhmedova's son Timur last April: The Akhmedov family is one of the most unhappy families that have come into my courtroom.
