Billionaire Warren Buffett suffered losses of $36 billion due to the investment of one of his subsidiaries in Apple this year, in conjunction with the losses that affected the latter's shares.
According to Business Insider, Berkshire Hathaway, a subsidiary of billionaire Warren Buffett, owns 908 million shares in the iPhone maker, and the value of those investments fell from $161 billion to $125 billion.
Apple's market value fell by about $700 billion to $2.2 trillion, while Warren Buffett's market value is $600 billion.
Warren Buffett bought 3.9 million Apple shares during the second quarter of this year.
Apple stock ranks first in Warren Buffett's portfolio, and is the largest investor in the company with a 5.6% stake.
But with stock losses in September, Warren Buffett's investment in Apple lost about $9 billion as of September 13, 2022, with a total loss of $18 billion just last month.
