French Finance Minister Bruno Le Mer said his country would not prevent the Chinese company Huawei from investing in it.
According to Reuters, the minister told France Info radio that there is no blanket ban on Huawei in France, but sensitive sites will be protected.
He said: We will not prohibit Huawei's investment in (the fifth generation) network, we will protect our national security interests.
Britain had decided to get rid of the company's equipment for the fifth generation network by 2027.
