A recent report by the Ministry of Finance showed that Kuwait recorded a deficit of approximately 5.4 billion dinars during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2021/2020, until the end of last December.

According to the report, the growth of the budget deficit amounted to about 137%, an increase of 3.12 billion dinars compared to the same period of the fiscal year 2019/2020, in which the deficit reached about 2.2 One billion dinars. P>
Total revenues decreased 45.5%, amounting to 5.7 billion dinars, from 12.67 billion dinars in December 2019 to 6.9 billion dinars in December 2020.
The total expenditures of government agencies decreased by 14.2%, with a value of 1.68 billion dinars, from 11.88 billion dinars to 10.19 billion dinars during the comparison periods. As for liabilities, they rose 17% from 1.8 billion dinars to 2.1 billion dinars.
The report indicated that Kuwait's budget achieved, until last December, total revenues of 6.9 billion dinars, representing 92.1% of the 7.5 billion dinars estimated to be achieved in the fiscal year 2021/2020.
, while the total oil revenues collected decreased by 49.4%, by about 5.7 billion dinars, from 11.58 billion dinars in December 2019 to 5.8 billion dinars, which represents 104.2% of the estimated achievement of 5.628 billion dinars.
