The state-owned Saudi Aramco has shown great interest in Russian projects to produce liquefied natural gas, within the framework of the Saudi leadership's intention to develop its global investments, especially in that global industry.

It is noteworthy that gas produced in Saudi Arabia, unlike oil, is consumed almost entirely locally. However, demand is constantly growing at around 5% annually.

In light of this increased consumption, the Kingdom may resort to importing LNG from abroad.

It is unlikely that gas pipelines will be delivered to the Kingdom, so LNG projects are of particular importance.

Russia is a clear potential partner for Saudi Arabia, especially as relations between the two countries have improved significantly in recent times against the backdrop of successful interaction within OPEC.

It is also possible that Saudi Arabia will turn to the American wing to import gas in the context of diversification of import sources.
