Inflation rose in Germany during the month of May to hit a new record at 7.9% on an annual basis.
According to Arabiya Net, the inflation index in Germany gained 0.5 points compared to April, and thus rose to its highest level since the reunification of the country in 1990. p>
That level of inflation is driven by the war in Ukraine, which has driven up energy and food prices and disrupted global supply chains, according to provisional figures released Monday.
Such a high inflation figure, dates back to January 1952, the West German era.
