The Central Bank of Sudan has received a letter from the Director of the Sanctions Office at the US Department of State, confirming the end of all forms of economic sanctions imposed on Sudan pursuant to Executive Orders 13067 and 13412, issued since October 12 2017.

According to Arabia Net, the bank governor indicated that under the cancellation of the two orders, the penalties were lifted for 157 Sudanese institutions, and only some individuals and institutions associated with the events in Darfur remain.
The letter indicates that this has nothing to do with the issue of bank transfers, as well as 3 links indicating the end of sanctions for 157 Sudanese institutions on October 12, 2017.

It is worth noting that the Central Bank of Sudan has addressed the Sudanese banks and correspondents, and has also addressed some central banks in the sisterly Arab countries, in order to activate the banking correspondence relations in order to maximize the mutual benefit.

The Sudanese Minister of Finance, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi, said in a meeting last month with Al-Arabiya, that the development of the path of societal dialogue in Sudan aims to reach a formula and program that enables Sudan to negotiate with international institutions regarding international debt owed on Sudan.

He pointed to the importance of getting rid of sanctions in giving Sudan a boost to negotiate its debts and receive aid from international organizations.
