The Abu Dhabi Energy Corporation and the Japanese Marubeni Company have formed an alliance to develop the Fujairah 3 plant, which will be the largest independent thermal plant for generating electricity in the UAE.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the Fujairah 3 project includes development, financing, construction, operation, maintenance and ownership management of the plant, which operates with combined cycle gas turbine technology, in addition to the necessary infrastructure works.
This plant is located within the Fujairah Water and Electricity Complex, between the current Fujairah 1 and Fujairah 2 power and water production plants, and will increase the production capacity of the Abu Dhabi Energy Corporation to 20.4 GW ... And when the operational phase begins, the plant, with its production capacity of 2.4 GW, will be able to provide electricity for the equivalent 380,000 homes.
Two agreements related to the project were signed, the first for the purchase of electricity, and the second for the partnership agreement .. The signing ceremony was attended by Jasim Hussein Thabet, CEO and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Energy Corporation, and Yoshiaki Yokota, Director of Operations at the Energy Business division of Marubeni Company, and Othman Juma Al Ali , CEO of Emirates Water and Electricity Company.
The signature was witnessed by His Excellency Saif Muhammad Al Hajri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Energy Foundation, and His Excellency Akihiko Nakajima, the Japanese Ambassador to the State.

At the beginning of the year 2019, Emirates Water and Electricity Company received 30 offers of interest to implement this project, as 20 of them were approved to enter the tender after pre-qualification, while the company announced that it had received 6 offers that were revealed during the month of October, at the company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. < / p>
