The General Ports Authority in Saudi Arabia (Ports) has signed an agreement worth more than 7 billion riyals ($ 1.9 billion) with the Saudi International Ports Company (SGB) for construction And the operation of container terminals in the port of Dammam.
According to Reuters, the Saudi International Ports Company will implement construction, operation, and transportation of container terminals with a 30-year contract.
Ports said that the project will increase the capacity of King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam by more than 120 percent to reach 7.5 million containers.
