The number of individuals' investment portfolios in the Saudi stock market increased by 4.54% at the end of the second quarter of this year, on an annual basis.
According to a report based on the quarterly statistical bulletin issued by the Capital Market Authority, the number of individuals’ investment portfolios in the main market increased to 11.25 million portfolios, compared to 10.76 million during the same period last year, an increase of 490 thousand new portfolios.
On a quarterly basis, the number of investment portfolios for individuals increased in the second quarter of this year, by 1.36%, equivalent to 152 thousand portfolios, compared to the previous quarter, at the end of which the number of portfolios reached 11.1 million investment portfolios for individuals.
The total number of individuals in the Saudi stock market recorded an increase of about 4.7% by the end of the second quarter of 2023 on an annual basis. To reach 5.94 million investors, compared to 5.67 million investors at the end of the same quarter of 2022.
Males accounted for 73.67% of the number of individuals in the main stock market by the end of the second quarter of 2023. Their number reached 4.37 million investors, compared to 1.56 million female investors.
It is noteworthy that the number of investment portfolios for individuals increased in the Saudi stock market by 9.7% by the end of the first quarter of 2023 on an annual basis, an increase amounting to 984.8 thousand new portfolios compared to the same quarter of last year.
