Barclays is facing investigations into allegations of spying on its employees by the Information Commissioner's Office, a privacy watchdog.
According to Arabianet, Barclays faces a fine of up to $ 1.1 billion if it is found to have violated privacy laws, according to The Telegraph.
The bank was measuring how long employees spent away from their offices or how long they took to complete tasks through Sapience Analytics anonymously for 18 months.

But in February Barclays ran additional functions within the program that allow it to select specific individuals to monitor from the computers they use.
This sparked protests by his staff, which led to him stopping individual monitoring later that month and reporting his actions to the Information Commissioner's office.
