Qatar Airways has been named the Best Airline in the World at the 2022 Skytrax World Aviation Awards.
Singapore Airlines Limited and Emirates Airlines came in second and third, respectively, according to Bloomberg.
In a strong showing for airlines in the Asia-Pacific region, Japan's All Nippon Airways and Australia's Qantas Airways finished the top five.
In contrast, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific fell to 16th from sixth last year.
Companies in the region also broke awards for the best airline for each flight class.
The new classification of airlines comes as the world ends the cancellation of travel restrictions related to the Corona virus, and business and tourism trips are firmly back on the agenda in most regions.
