Akef Al-Maghrabi, Vice Chairman of Banque Misr, said that the total volume of dues that were disbursed to exporters through Banque Misr amounted to 3.7 billion pounds.
Al-Maghrabi added, in a special statement to Economy Plus, that the number of requests received by Banque Misr from companies so far has reached about 297.
Last December, a protocol was signed between the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and 4 banks to pay the total dues of exporters worth 23 billion pounds, with 85% to be paid Of the dues in advance and one payment, instead of 3 years, and a waiver of 15% in exchange for the advance payment.
and 4 banks represented by the National Bank of Egypt, Egypt, Banque du Caire and the Egyptian Bank for Export Development will participate in the agreement to pay the exporters' dues.
The shares are distributed among banks by 8 billion pounds for the National Bank, 8 billion pounds for the Egyptian Export Development Bank, 5 billion pounds for Banque Misr, and about 2 billion pounds for Banque du Caire.
