The Saudi Automotive Services and Equipment Company (SASCO) announced that on February 25, 2019, it had received a final court ruling from Department (41) of the General Court in Riyadh against the Saudi Ministry of Housing.
The ruling obligated the Ministry of Housing (the defendant) to pay an amount of 8.22 million riyals ($ 2.2 million) in fare equal to the infringement on the company’s land located on the Hafar Al-Batin Road in Riyadh.
Sasco had filed a property ownership claim against housing on June 8, 2013, in which it called for the ministry to stop the infringement on the company’s land in Hafar Al-Batin.
The lawsuit was filed at the time due to the Ministry's deduction of part of the company’s land by 41.71 thousand square meters.
A judgment was issued by the General Court in Riyadh and was supported by the Court of Appeal in Riyadh and appended in the executive form to obligate the Ministry of Housing to pay the indicated amount.
The company explained that the financial impact of this case will appear in the income statement of the preliminary financial results for the period ending March 31, 2019, with the total amount awarded.
