The price of natural gas used to produce electricity in Turkey rose by 18.3%, according to an announcement by the Turkish natural gas distribution company Botas, on Tuesday.

The company said, according to CNBC Arabia, that there has been no change in the prices of natural gas used in industrial facilities and homes.

Turkey has made sharp increases in energy prices this year, and inflation rose to nearly 50% in January after last year's currency crisis.

Also, prices are rising worldwide, as a result of the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has clearly contributed to an increase in prices.
