As of next October, residents of the UAE can rent electric planes and then fly over them on condition that they receive the necessary training according to the Emirates Technical Training Academy.

These planes will be available for young people from 14 years after passing the training period at Ghantoot Aviation Club in Abu Dhabi.

Lahj Saif Al Falasi, Chairman of the Academy, said that the manufacture of the exterior structure of the electric plane took place in Slovenia, while the entire plane was assembled and its batteries and electric motor were installed with 100% Emirati hands inside the country.

He pointed out that these planes are environmentally friendly and are the first of their kind in the Middle East, and they bear the name Alpha Electro, according to the UAE news agency WAM.

And showed that the plane, which has a price of 400 thousand dirhams, can fly at an altitude of 13,000 feet and at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour, and for a full 90 minutes using two lithium batteries, one of them allows to fly an additional half an hour in emergency situations.

He stated that the plane contains two electric bicycles, which are carried on board and used to move when landing on the ground inside the club .. while the duration of their charge does not exceed 15 minutes.

He expected these planes to make a major change in the electric plane industry, explaining that they obtained international licenses for aviation last year and flew in the airspace of the Emirates, America and Germany.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Technical Training Academy stated that the electric plane has safety means and does not emit any noise or emissions that harm the environment, and that it will contribute to reducing climate change compared to traditional aircraft, and pointed out that the plane It will be used at Ghantoot Club in Abu Dhabi for the purpose of flying training, which costs 100 dirhams per hour.
