Emirates Airlines has obtained the approval of the authorities to start operating a limited number of passenger flights as of April 6.


According to ArabiaNet, the company’s CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said: “Over time, we are looking forward to the gradual resumption of passenger flights, in line with the lifting of travel restrictions and ensuring health measures to protect our employees and customers.


These flights will carry travelers from visitors and residents of the country who wish to return to their countries. The Emirates Air Cargo will use these flights to support trade and societies.


This statement comes two days after Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum announced on Tuesday that the emirate will inject new capital into Emirates Airlines, one of the largest airlines that operate long-haul flights in the world, joining the government to other governments that have provided financial support to those Companies.

Emirates Airlines, which suspended passenger operations this month, has temporarily cut its employees ’salaries by up to half due to the impact of the outbreak on the airline’s activities.

Al-Rida said in an interview with Al-Arabiya that Emirates Airlines will not lay off any of its employees, but will take some measures and measures to reduce some salaries for some degrees of employees to deal with the unprecedented conditions witnessed by the aviation sector in the world, in light of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
