The Bulgarian National Gas Pipeline Network Operating Company said that a consortium led by Arkad for Saudi Engineering and a Milan-based joint venture between Arkad and ABB won a contract to build a pipeline that would transport Russian natural gas via Bulgaria.

According to CNBC Arabia, Bulgaria is speeding up the construction of the 474 km pipeline to link its southern borders with Turkey with its western borders with Serbia.

The implementation of the contract aims to link the Turkish-backed Turkish-Turkish dual pipeline project with Serbia and Hungary.
