Stocks in Saudi Arabia closed higher at the end of trading on Sunday, with indices rising, and gains were recorded in the industrial investment, cement and building and construction sectors.
At the close of trading in Riyadh, the Saudi general index closed up 0.10%.
Among the leading stocks on the Saudi Tadawul index today, Liva Insurance (TADAWUL:8280) stood out, rising 9.93% or 1.32 points to close at 14.61. Meanwhile, Saudi Printing and Packaging (TADAWUL:4270) continued its upward trend, gaining 9.91% or 0.65 points to close at 7.21, while Saudi Industrial Exports (TADAWUL:4140) increased by 8.89% or 0.20 points to finish at 2.45.
As for the worst performers at the close of trading, Saudi Fisheries Company (TADAWUL:6050) shares closed down 4.76%, or 3.50 points, at 70.00. Saudi Arabian Refineries Company (TADAWUL:2030) shares fell 4.08%, or 2.15 points, to 50.60, while Eastern Integrated Pipes Company (TADAWUL:1321) shares closed down 3.96%, or 9.00 points, at 218.00.
The number of stocks that declined exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the Saudi stock market, with 159 compared to 154, while 25 remained unchanged.
Liva Insurance (TADAWUL:8280) stock climbed to its highest level in 52 weeks, continuing its rise towards 9.93% or 1.32 points at a price of 14.61.
WTI crude oil futures for August delivery fell 0.93%, or $0.67, to settle at $71.41 a barrel. In other commodities trading, Brent crude oil futures for September delivery dropped 0.38%, or $0.29, to $76.01 a barrel, while August gold futures declined 0.65%, or $27.10, to close at $4,113.70 an ounce.
The EUR/SAR pair lost 0.14% and traded at 4.29, while the USD/SAR pair remained unchanged at around 0.01% and reached 3.75.
Dollar index futures traded 0.07% higher at 100.76.
