Netflix is looking to charge you about $7 to $9 a month for its new ad-supported subscription plan.

A Bloomberg report said the company plans to roll out its budget-friendly option in the last three months of the year in at least six geographies. However, the full rollout may have to wait until early next year.

The report quoted informed sources as saying that the company plans to sell about four minutes of commercial advertisements per hour for the ad-supported service, and display advertisements before and during performances. The broadcasting giant declined to comment on the report and its pricing plan.

And rival Walt Disney Co. announced in March that it would offer a cheaper, ad-supported version of its Disney+ streaming service later this year.

Netflix is seeking subscribers who are willing to watch shows with ads, at a cost of nearly half of its current $15.49 per month price plan.

The ad-supported subscription plan comes after the company announced a loss of about 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of this year on the back of rising inflation that is putting pressure on consumer spending.

In July, Netflix selected Microsoft as the technology and sales partner for its ad-supported subscription plan.
