A government spokesperson said that Boris Johnson had worsened his condition, forcing the medical team to transfer him to the intensive care department to receive excellent care.

Johnson asked the Secretary of State, Dominic Rap, to act on his behalf as necessary, according to the spokesman.

The 55-year-old Prime Minister was transferred to a hospital in London on Sunday evening after the symptoms of the disease persisted.
